The big day you've all been waiting for is finally here: Halloween has come to Schenectady. You've been getting your costume ready, stocking up on candy, and planning parties -- but have you taken the necessary safety precautions?
Every year, the NHTSA notes an uptick in drunk driving and traffic fatalities involving pedestrians. How can you help keep your neighborhood streets safe, other than not driving drunk? The NHTSA recommends:
- Reducing speed, especially in residential neighborhoods
- Staying alert and aware of pedestrians wearing dark clothing
- Reviewing how to safely cross the street with kids
- Decorating costumes with reflective tape, glow sticks, or carrying a flashlight
Halloween is one of our favorite holidays, and it can be fun for the whole family. From Wedekind Motors, we hope you have fun, and stay safe tonight! And, if you're looking for a treat that won't give you an upset stomach, a pre-owned vehicle is even better than a candy bar, so pay us a visit.
