According to a recent Ford article, if you fall into a few categories of extreme driving, you may need to get your oil changed more often.

A modern Ford vehicle only needs an oil change every 7,500 miles. Your interval may vary depending on the make and year of your car, as well as the type of oil you are using. Whatever your recommended interval, that window may shrink when you let your engine get too hot or dirty.

Do you haul a boat out to the lake every weekend, or pull a trailer? Heavy-duty use makes engines run hotter. So does a long trip on a scorching day. If you do a lot of hot-weather driving, you could be killing your oil.

While it may not be a problem in urban Schenectady, if you head out into the country and cruise dusty roads, and go mudding, you could be getting gunk in your engine, and will have to change the oil more frequently.

If it's time for you to change your oil, then visit Wedekind Motors for a service appointment.
